Monastery of Vlaherna
It is found near Kyllini in a landscape that impresses with its simplicity.

It was built roughly in the12th century and there are two theories, which exist concerning the origin of the name given. First theory is that it was built in memory of the Abbey Vlaherna of Konstantinoupolis (today = Istanbul) and the second theory is that it was a subsidiary of the Konstantinoupolis Abbey. Because of the destructions throughout the years many important files of the Abbey have been lost so different opinions in regards to its foundation prevail.
Eastern and Western art have been influenced by the architecture of the Holy Temple, which reflects the blending of architectural elements.
